What exactly is an Heirloom Video?

An Heirloom Video is an expertly recorded personal video memoir. We sit down with your loved one in the comfort of their home and guide a relaxed conversation about their life, memories, family stories, values, experiences, and personality. The finished video becomes a lasting keepsake for children and future generations.

Who is usually recorded?

Most often, families choose to record parents, grandparents, or older relatives. However, these videos are meaningful for anyone whose stories and voice matter deeply to family and loved ones.

Is this only for older adults or end-of-life situations?

Not at all. While families choose to create these videos later in life, there is never a “perfect” age. Every stage of life contains stories, personality, wisdom, humor, and memories worth preserving.

How long does a recording session last?

Most recording sessions last approximately 60-90 minutes, depending on energy level, comfort, and how much the person wants to share. We always keep the experience relaxed and unhurried.

Where does the recording take place?

Usually in the client’s home. We bring lighting, microphones, and camera equipment to create a comfortable setup in a quiet room with good natural warmth and atmosphere.

Will the interviewer appear on camera?

No. Michele remains off-camera and guides the conversation naturally, so the focus stays on your loved one and their stories.

Can family members participate?

Absolutely. Some families prefer a one-on-one interview, while others enjoy having children or grandchildren ask questions or join parts of the conversation. We can discuss what feels best for your family.

Do you travel outside Cincinnati?

Yes. Although we are based in Cincinnati, Ohio and generally serve families within approximately a two-hour driving radius, additional travel may be possible.

How is the final video delivered?

Families will receive a private online viewing link and a physical thumb drive keepsake copy.

How far in advance should we schedule?

We recommend scheduling sooner rather than later whenever possible. One of the most common things families say after losing someone is: “We wish we had recorded them.”

How much does this cost?

The normal price range is between $300-$500 depending on several factors such as travel costs and recording length.
